Debbie at a Wedding

Your wedding is the most important day of your life and you want everything about it to be perfect, including the music. Giving time to your choice of music can set your wedding apart as a truly memorable celebration for you and your guests. A short performance before the bride arrives can help set the ambience for the occasion and/or whilst you are signing the register, your friends and family are able to enjoy the moment in another way.

I want to help you lift your ceremony to another level and ensure it is an enjoyable experience for everyone. As the music you choose needs to reflect the style of your service, I offer you the opportunity of discussing your wishes with me before the event at no extra cost so that we can get the interpretation just right for your most special day.

Frequently Asked Questions
When do I need to have the music decided?
I suggest that the sooner the better, around 3 months before is a good time to start making some choices. It's often the thing left to the last minute but careful consideration can make such a huge difference. It can also be quite time consuming to decide which hymns you both like and will reflect your ceremony when having a church wedding.

What if I don't know what music to use?
I am happy to discuss ideas with you about the atmosphere you want to create with music and then give you a list of pieces you may wish to choose from. This will include ideas for hymns as well.

I know what music I want sung, will you do it ?
I am happy to learn a particular piece for your wedding. Please bear in mind that the church often only has an organ or piano. So if you want something of a more popular nature, then it would be better to consider a backing track. I would require you to provide me with a backing track, sheet music or recording if I don't already have it myself.

How many years have you been singing?
I have been in the singing industry for over seven years with much experience of singing in wedding ceremonies. I have performed in the West End with the D'Oyly Carte and toured Great Britain in various opera productions with a wide variety of companies.

When is the best time to book you to sing for us?
It is better to book me sooner rather than later. My diary gets booked up pretty quickly, so to help encourage you to book earlier, I have listed some discounts in my fees. If you book me to sing up to six months before your wedding, you will receive a 10% discount on the singing fee. From three to six months ahead you will receive a 5% discount (terms and conditions are listed under fees).

When in the ceremony is the best time to have a singer?
Most people choose to have me sing during the signing of the register but I can also perform as you walk down the aisle and/or back (an extra fee is charged for this type of service, based on how many pieces you wish sung).
I can also perform at your reception. Fees are based on whether there would be a need for a piano player and the length of time involved.

I would like to make a video/music recording of the ceremony, are there any extra costs?
Following the Incorporated Society of Musicians code of practise and copyright laws, there is a further charge for any recordings made of me or my singing.

Other services
I’m happy to liaise with the church or venue to confirm details of the facilities they have to produce the musical effect you want or I can simply advise you. We can also discuss where you would prefer me to stand.

Whatever questions you have with regards to the music for your ceremony, I would be pleased to help you. I look forward to hearing from you!
